I was preparing our Samsung stove nicely for this test. Ever since we got the stove, the black top is very hard to clean. I have never been able to get all of the grease off. I had enough of that and decided to see if Samsung recommended anything to clean the cooktop. Samsung recommends using Cerama Bryte Cooktop Cleaner. In preparation I used our cast iron skillet to make bacon every morning until the Cerama Bryte Cooktop Cleaner arrived from Amazon, and made a big mess every time. Also let some Korean BBQ make a huge mess as well. I like a challenge.
Dirty Greasy Stove
As you can see the stove has had enough. This is disgusting. I am actually embarrassed to post this picture, but at the same time, the before tells all.
Cerama Bryte Packaged
Next step was to show what came in the package, Cerama Bryte Best Value Kit: Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner 28oz, Scraper, 10 Pads, Burnt-on Grease Remover 2oz.
Cerama Bryte Unpackaged
The kit is very basic and reminds me of what you would get in a starter car wash kit. Little did I know, this actually feels like washing a car, but in only the good ways. No sun, barely any sweat, and almost no work.
Cerama Bryte Scraper
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the scraper piece, but it turns out its just a razor blade on a plastic wand. Still better than just buying a razor blade, but not exactly anything special here.
First Pass of Burnt-on Grease Remover
After a very quick pass of using some of the Burn-on Grease Remover with the scraper at roughly 30 degrees and most of the gunk is gone. I don’t know what’s in the grease remover but its like magic. This took about 3 minutes. The rest of the gunk is what I normally have trouble getting off. Some of this grease is possibly from the very first time we used this stove about 6 months ago.
Sections of During, Before, and After Cleaning
After I wiped off the grease remover, the ceramic cooktop cleaner went on next. I followed the instructions and dabbed about a quarter size on the stove and used a pad to basically polish the cooktop. This is the part that felt like I was waxing my car. I didn’t use very much pressure. A quick wipe with a paper towel and you can see the huge difference. The left section is the dried cleaner, to the right is after wiping, and to the far right is only after using the scraper tool.
Sparkly Clean Cooktop
Even though the process felt like chemical magic, which it obviously is, the cooktop came out clean. I used a microfiber cloth to remove whatever the paper towel couldn’t remove. If you are reading this and haven’t put this in your cart yet, here’s another link, Cerama Bryte Best Value Kit: Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner 28oz, Scraper, 10 Pads, Burnt-on Grease Remover 2oz. Cerama Bryte is a must buy for anyone who wants to keep their cooktop looking clean, looking like new, and the cleaning takes very little effort or time. Don’t let the below cheesy infomercial fool you, this stuff actually works.
